The largest US-listed companies by market value — every stock at or above $200 billion — ranked from the biggest down. Between them these names make up the majority of the S&P 500's weight, which is why their daily moves and the index's move are so closely linked.
How this screen is computed
Market capitalisation is shares outstanding multiplied by the latest close, refreshed with each close and each reported change in share count. The $200 billion line is a convention, not an official class; it currently admits roughly fifty to sixty companies.
The one-month column sits beside the ranking so the recent performance of the group is visible at a glance; the P/E column shows the trailing multiple where earnings are positive.
How to read it
Mega-caps move the indices and the ETFs that track them: when this list is mostly green, the S&P 500 is almost certainly up, whatever the rest of the market did. Comparing the group's one-month change with the momentum screen shows whether leadership is broad or concentrated in size.
Size is not safety. The largest companies have had the deepest drawdowns in several bear markets, and concentration at the top means a few names carry outsized index risk. This is a reference list for orientation, not a portfolio.
