US-listed stocks whose indicated annual dividend — the most recent declared payment annualised — equals 4% or more of the latest close price. Ranked from the highest yield down.
How this screen is computed
Indicated yield is the annualised current dividend divided by the latest close. It changes every day with the price and whenever a company changes its payout; the figure is refreshed daily and the table hourly. Companies with no declared dividend are simply absent.
The P/E column is shown alongside because a high yield on a stock trading at a very low multiple often signals that the market expects the dividend to be cut — the two numbers are meant to be read together.
How to read it
The top of this list is not a list of the best dividend stocks; it is a list of the highest yields, and the highest yields belong disproportionately to mortgage REITs, business-development companies and stocks whose price has fallen sharply. A 20% yield is usually a warning, not a gift.
For a steadier set, open the screen in the interactive screener and add a payout-ratio ceiling, a five-year dividend-growth floor or a market-cap minimum. Dividends can be reduced or suspended at any time; yield is a snapshot of price and last payment, nothing more.
